Note from Juhree
I am the mother of three daughters, ages 35, 25, and 13. I have 4 grandkids with one expected in July of 22. My grandkids are a big part of my life and I spend most of my free time with them. When I have time for hobbies, me and my husband enjoy fishing and spending time at the river. We have lived in Granbury for two years and we love this town. Very friendly and tight community.
I started my journey in the Senior care industry when I was 19 years old. I worked as a CNA at Mansfield Nursing home. My mom had worked at this facility most of my school years, so it was a natural progression into this industry. I worked at Mansfield Nursing Home for about 3 years before a local recruiter was looking for CNAs for a new critical care hospital that was opening in Mansfield. The hospital was Vencor hospital which is now known as Kindred Hospital. I worked as a CNA for several years before promoting in as Unit Secretary. I worked that role for about 3-4 years.
My middle daughter was born and the decision was made that I would stay home and raise my children for a while. Shortly after I found myself divorced and trying to raise my 2 daughters. I quickly went back to the Senior Care industry. I started working in Assisted Livings at that point. I worked as a caregiver and medication aide.
I changed the direction of direct care by applying for and getting the role of Life Enrichment Coordinator for Heartis Eagle Mountain in the Fort Worth area. I worked for that company for 3 years before being contacted by the Regional Director of Operations for Sunrise Senior living to be their Activity Coordinator. I worked for Sunrise for close to four years. During my time at Sunrise, I was able to become a Level one, Certified Validation worker.
Validation therapy was developed by Naomi Feil for older people with cognitive impairments and dementia. Learning this technique has helped me tremendously improve the way I interact with people with dementia. My education consists of a BA in Gerontology and a Master of Business in Management and Leadership.
Once I moved to Granbury, I found that I no longer wanted the hour commute into Fort Worth. At that point I got a position with a local home care company as the office manager/scheduler. This role proved to be very challenging but I enjoyed the daily scheduling battles. I did drive by the Beehive Homes of Granbury during construction and come for a tour once the community was open. It was love at first sight and I told myself every day that I would one day work at that community. And, by the Grace of God I am here.!! I am so looking forward to serving the Beehive families, the great people of Granbury and being able to show them a different option in Assisted Living.
Juhree – Please email me. I have a question but want to be sure it goes to you and not someone else there.
